PHILOSOPHY
After a long career in marketing and advertising, I decided to create imagery of a more personal nature. I use photography as the medium to travel, meet people and build bridges across cultural strata. Sharing a captured moment with a photo subject of any age produces a brief but simple and honest warmth between us. Since 1993, I have been fortunate to cross this bridge in over 40 countries.
EXPERIENCE
As a contract photographer and freelance art director for Eastman Kodak Company, I have produced 1000s of images for corporate use in both traditional film and digital format. These images from assignments in the USA, Spain, Canada, Japan, Thailand, most of Europe, Argentina and Mexico are found in Kodak’s product packaging, outdoor, website, collateral material, and trade exhibits such as PMA & Photokina.
In addition I have produced and art directed numerous photographic exhibits and 8 DVD photo/music presentations for Experience Kodak, a state of the art facility at corporate headquarters in Rochester, NY.
1993-present
Knowledge is power. I returned to academia in 1997 and received a Master of Arts degree at Ohio State in 1999. I taught several design courses at all levels and took most of my graduate courses in the School of Natural Resources. This experience honed my interest in worldwide environmental and sustainability issues.
1997-1999
With several years experience as a graphic designer, I founded an advertising agency in 1982 with Chris Pulleyn, a good friend and incredible writer. We grew the company to over 60 employees and 25 million in capitalized billings, specializing in regional business to business communications. By plan, I sold the company in 1992.
